Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo, a national Caucus member and Board of Trustees (BoT) member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was reported in an interview with The Sun correspondent in Umuahia, Abia State, to have advised President Bola Tinubu against engaging in a confrontation with former US President Donald Trump over Trump’s allegations of a Christian genocide in Nigeria and his threat to strike the country.
According to The Sun, when he was asked about the accusation by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, that Governor Alex Otti was not doing enough with the allocations he receives from the federal government, he responded by noting that Hon. Ben Kalu was a member of his party, in which he held the same qualifications as Bola Tinubu.
He explained that while Tinubu was a member of the National Board of Trustees and the National Caucus, as was Prince B. B. Apugo (himself), he himself had the same rights and qualifications as Tinubu, the only difference being that Tinubu was the President of Nigeria.
Further talking, he said, “The deputy Speaker is trying to bring himself to complete nullity because he has not done anything. This is Bende Road; he’s from Bende. Has he been able to convince (Dave) Umahi to do the road ? He cannot do that, nobody takes him seriously, he’s not a serious person.”
