Prominent politician and publisher, Dele Momodu, has joined the conversation surrounding the viral video of a tense altercation between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and a group of soldiers at a disputed construction site in Abuja.
Momodu shared his reaction on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, becoming one of several public figures to comment on the controversial exchange that has stirred debate across social media.
The viral footage shows the minister in a heated discussion with a uniformed officer near a partially completed block fence. Surrounded by aides, security personnel, and FCT officials, Wike can be seen gesturing emphatically as he questions the presence of the soldiers on the site. The encounter has since attracted widespread attention online, with many Nigerians sharing varied opinions about the minister’s conduct and the soldier’s restraint.
In his response, Momodu commended the calmness and discipline of the military officer involved. He wrote, “I admire this officer. Slowly but surely, Wike is creating unnecessary tension for the Federal Government by verbally attacking an officer in uniform. Thank God for the restraint shown by the gentle soldier.”
Momodu’s post has added another layer to the ongoing public discourse about the limits of ministerial authority, civil–military relations, and respect for institutional protocols in the nation’s capital.
