Famous Nollywood actor Emeka Okoye has revealed why he lost many movie roles in the past, while also stating how he was body-shamed by his colleagues in the movie industry.
In a video that was shared on the official YouTube channel of Seun Oloketuyi TV during an interview, he disclosed that he lost movie roles because he is chubby, saying that some people said he is not handsome and that he has a big stomach.
In his statement, he said, “I lost movie roles because I’m fat, some people said I am not handsome and I have a big stomach. When I was slimmer and younger, I didn’t get movie roles, and a lot of movie producers would only use me to audition others, and they would give out movie scripts to them. The movie producers would tell me that I’m a good actor but that they couldn’t give me movie roles because I was too slim.”
