We’ve 2 Powerful People In Nigeria That They Can Either Make Peace Or Can Make Peace Impossible—Musa

Auwal Rafsanjani Musa, who leads the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), has expressed uncertainty regarding the actual authority hierarchy between President Bola Tinubu and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike. The executive director’s observations highlight concerns about contemporary Nigerian political dynamics.

Speaking during a broadcast interview with Arise TV, Musa articulated his reservations about the apparent balance of influence within the current administration. The civil society advocate cited specific behavioral patterns that inform his assessment of power distribution at the federal level.

Musa referenced Wike’s public declarations, noting the minister’s tendency to make provocative statements about creating disturbances in various locations without facing administrative consequences or official reprimands. The CISLAC director suggested that this unchecked rhetoric indicates an unusual level of autonomy for a cabinet appointee.

In Musa’s words: “I’m not even sure whether Tinubu is more powerful than Wike because Wike will openly say he will go and cause trouble in some places and nobody could even caution him. So I think we have two powerful people in Nigeria that they can either make peace or they can make peace impossible and that is Mr Wike and Mr President.
