Barrister Darlington Agomuo, a legal practitioner, has stated that former Attorney General Bola Ige played a key role in saving former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s life while he was in prison during the military era
In an interview with Voice of The People TV, Agomuo said when Ige heard about General Shehu Yar’Adua’s death in prison and how he was allegedly injected, he became very worried and rushed to the prison where Obasanjo was being held
Agomuo said Bola Ige warned Obasanjo not to allow anyone to inject him under any circumstance, and also advised him not to let anyone take his blood for any kind of test. He stated that Obasanjo followed Ige’s warning and it saved his life
In Agomuo’s words: “Do you know what saved Obasanjo? When Bola Ige heard of what happened to Yar’Adua and how they injected him, he ran all the way to where Obasanjo was and told him, ‘Baba, never you allow them to inject you, if they want to take your blood for test don’t allow it. Don’t let them touch you’. That was the warning Bola Ige gave Obasanjo and that was what saved him”
