Zamfara: CPG Caught Vehicles With Guns; A Traditional Ruler With 150 Bandits Arrived The Scene—Getso

Dr. Yahuza Getso, a security and intelligence analyst, has stated that a senior traditional leader in Zamfara State was arrested for collaborating with bandits during an operation involving suspected arms supplies.

In an interview with Trust TV, Getso said the Community Protection Guards (CPG) in the state received intelligence reports that weapons were going to be delivered to bandits and they set up an ambush.

Getso said that when the vehicles arrived and the guards tried to search them, the drivers called the traditional leader. He stated that the traditional leader then arrived with more than 150 armed bandits carrying AK-47 rifles and warned the guards to allow the vehicles to drive away or they would all be killed.

Getso added that the guards let the vehicles pass because of the threat and that the traditional leader was later arrested.

In Getso’s words: “There was inteligence that arms were to be brought to the bandits, so the [Community Protection Guards], went and laid an ambush. When the vehicles arrived and they wanted to check it, the drivers phoned the traditional leader who came immediately with over 150 bandits carrying AK-47 to the scene.
