Social media users have taken to their official X account on Friday, July 10, 2026 to react to the statement that was made by former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani after all African teams were eliminated from the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
His statement came after France defeated Morocco 2-0 to reach the semifinal of the tournament.
Reacting, Senator Shehu Sani said Africa is out of the tournament. He said football remains a European and Latin American dominated sport. The former Kaduna lawmaker said it is time for Africans to ask themselves about the issues affecting football in the continent.
