A prominent member of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has commented on the public interactions between former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.
According to a video shared on Vanguard’s official X account on June 3, 2026, Baba-Ahmed expressed his views on leadership etiquette and political relationships. Reflecting on his time as Peter Obi’s running mate, he explained that he never positioned himself ahead of Obi during public appearances. Instead, he maintained a place either beside him or slightly behind him.
Baba-Ahmed emphasized that he holds both Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in high regard, noting that his remarks were not intended to diminish either political figure.
In the video, he stated that Kwankwaso is often seen walking ahead of Obi, a gesture he personally would not adopt. He added that photographs and video recordings exist showing such instances, but maintained that his own approach would be different.
In his words: “Kwankwaso walks in front of Peter Obi. You don’t do that. We have pictures and videos, but I will never do that.”
