According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Ovie Omo-Agege, criticized the administration of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, accusing it of failing to make effective use of available public resources.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Omo-Agege argued that despite the substantial revenues received by the state in recent years, the government has not delivered enough development projects to justify the funds at its disposal. He maintained that the state’s leadership lacks the vision and capacity needed to address pressing challenges affecting residents.
Highlighting what he described as poor financial management, Omo-Agege stated, “We have about ₦750 billion sitting idle in the CBN because this government is clueless.”
The former deputy Senate president said resources that remain unused could have been directed toward critical sectors such as education, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure development. According to him, many communities continue to face challenges that require urgent government intervention despite the availability of funds.
Omo-Agege also expressed confidence that a change in leadership could bring improved governance and better outcomes for the people of Delta State.
