Former House of Representatives aspirant for Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Muhammad Sadisu Buba, has said his desire to represent his people is driven by a commitment to channel government benefits directly to the grassroots.
Buba made the remarks during an interview on S24 Television while responding to questions about why he decided to seek public office despite criticisms surrounding his age, height and educational qualifications.
Speaking during the interview, the former aspirant said his supporters believe in him because of his sincerity and determination to improve the welfare of ordinary people. According to him, leadership should focus on delivering benefits to citizens rather than personal enrichment.
“Anything I get from the federal government is going directly to my people. That’s why people say ‘we choose you, come and represent us, we like you,’” he said.
Buba explained that many residents encouraged him to contest because they saw him as someone who understands the needs of the community. He noted that public trust is earned through dedication and service, not through physical appearance or social status.
The former aspirant also addressed comments about his stature, saying some people unfairly judge leaders based on height or educational background instead of examining their intentions and ability to serve effectively.
