During an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Adams Oshiomhole spoke about the debate surrounding Senate leadership rules, ranking, and the principle of fairness in democratic institutions.
Oshiomhole made the remarks while addressing discussions concerning the tenure and ranking status of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. According to him, arguments over consecutive terms and eligibility should not be manipulated to target specific individuals or influence the democratic process within the Senate.
Speaking during the interview, Oshiomhole said, “I’m just saying that, you know, as a matter of morality, you don’t make laws either for yourself or make laws against specific individuals that you fear will come.
