2027 Poll: One Way Or Other, We Have Many Parties; One Will Escape And Survive The Onslaught-Johnson

In a recent interview aired on Arise News, New Nigeria People’s Party spokesperson Ladipo Johnson expressed confidence that the opposition would withstand what he described as a coordinated government effort to weaken its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Johnson, who spoke against the backdrop of mounting internal crises within several opposition parties, acknowledged that sponsored infiltrators were actively working to destabilise opposition structures. He nonetheless remained defiant, insisting that the opposition’s survival was not in doubt.

“One way or the other, we have several parties, one of those parties will be able to escape and survive the onslaught,” he declared.

The NNPP spokesman linked the opposition’s troubles to what he called a deliberate agenda by the ruling All Progressives Congress to eliminate political competition before next year’s polls. He cited remarks attributed to APC chieftain Festus Keyamo as evidence that the federal government was actively working to scatter opposition formations.

Johnson also referenced the recently amended Electoral Act, arguing that the May 30th primary deadline was specifically designed to disadvantage opposition parties.
