Destiny Enabulele, a Political Affairs Analyst, has highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign pledge to resolve Nigeria’s persistent power supply issues within his first term or risk losing re-election in 2027.

In a Monday interview on Trust TV News, Enabulele recalled Tinubu’s pre-election assurance that he would address the nation’s electricity woes, urging citizens to hold him accountable by rejecting him at the polls if he failed to deliver. Enabulele expressed concern that, nearly two years into Tinubu’s presidency, the power sector has seen minimal progress.

He noted that even Abuja, the federal capital, continues to grapple with erratic electricity supply, raising questions about the administration’s commitment and ability to fulfill this critical promise.

He cautioned that the ongoing failure to stabilize electricity could trigger significant political repercussions. Enabulele emphasized that growing public frustration over unfulfilled commitments in the energy sector might erode Tinubu’s credibility, complicating his prospects for re-election as 2027 approaches.
