UAE officially blows hot: says it will not allow the US to use its soil against Iran again

According to a report by Anadolu News Agency on Monday, April 27, 2026, Officials in Abu Dhabi emphasized that the country’s position is rooted in its commitment to sovereignty and regional stability. The statement comes amid heightened conflict in the Middle East, where accusations and counterclaims have intensified over the alleged use of Gulf-based facilities in military operations. Emirati authorities have firmly rejected suggestions that their land, ports, or airspace are being utilized as a launch platform for attacks against Iran.

The declaration follows repeated claims from Tehran that U.S. forces have used locations within the UAE to carry out strikes on Iranian targets. Iranian officials have cited ports and strategic facilities in the Gulf as alleged staging points, assertions that the UAE has consistently denied. By publicly clarifying its stance, the UAE appears to be seeking to reduce the risk of further escalation and potential retaliation.

Analysts note that the UAE hosts U.S. military personnel and facilities as part of long-standing defense cooperation agreements. However, the presence of foreign forces has increasingly placed the country in a sensitive position as tensions between Washington and Tehran have intensified. Iranian warnings have previously indicated that sites linked to U.S. operations in the Gulf could be considered legitimate targets in the event of further conflict.

In its latest position, the UAE highlighted that it does not support actions that could widen the conflict or draw additional countries into direct confrontation. Officials reiterated calls for de-escalation, urging all parties involved to pursue diplomatic solutions rather than military escalation.
