The Colonel We Lost In Monguno Was In One Of The MRAPs And It Was Completely Destroyed – Sen Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South has revealed that Colonel I.A Mohammed, who was recently killed in an insurgent attack in Monguno, was inside one of the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles that was struck and destroyed by terrorists IEDs.

Speaking on Arise TV, Ndume said, “The colonel we lost in Monguno was in one of the MRAPs, and it was completely destroyed. These are not locally produced. They cannot be locally maintained. You can have an MRAP worth three to four billion naira destroyed with a rocket-propelled grenade in an instant, the insurgents can set it ablaze at once,” he said.

Ndume warned that the situation on the ground demands far greater understanding and support from both the government and local communities.

He expressed deep concern about the declining morale among soldiers, arguing that Nigerian troops are too easily criticised by people who have no appreciation for the sacrifices they make daily.

He argued that the soldiers remain the only Nigerians consistently willing to lay down their lives in defence of the country’s territory and that this reality deserves far more recognition and gratitude than it currently receives…. See More
