Senator Shehu Sani, a renowned human rights activist and former Kaduna central senatorial district lawmaker has taken to his official X handle to react after reports regarding the selling of lands surrounding the popular Jabi Lake Park in Abuja surfaced online. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that seeing the prestigious recreation park being sold out was saddening.
The news regarding the the recent allocation of lands surrounding the popular Jabi Lake Park in the federal capital territory, Abuja to prospective buyers generated mixed reactions after the reports surfaced online.
The Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA), under the leadership of the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike caved out lands surrounding the popular recreation park, and allocated them to unknown buyers.
Senator Shehu Sani, a renowned human rights activist and former federal lawmaker shared the post on his official X handle on Monday April 6th, 2026 accompanied by a striking comment.
The recreational park, which was designed and constructed by the former president Olusegun Obasanjo administration over two decades ago, attracted several tourists from different parts of the country and beyond.
According to his statements, he pointed out that seeing the prestigious recreation park being caved out and sold was saddening. He further pointed out that the new project going on around the park went against the master plan.
