Former Labour Party chieftain and Peter Obi supporter Engineer Isaac Balami has revealed that he personally spent over one million US dollars from his own pocket to fund Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Balami said, “If I convert what I withdrew from my personal account to support Obi, it is over a million US dollars. From the five Prado Land Cruisers I donated to the campaign, to the bulletproof car I provided, to the three rooms I maintained at Transcorp Hilton throughout the campaign, to the Supreme Court case, to sponsoring my team members to travel around. I am not just speaking generally, I can show you account statements of what I spent. Over a million dollars, throughout the entire period,” he said.
Balami argued that the investment extended far beyond money, with his team deploying over 300,000 polling unit agents and conducting training sessions to prepare supporters for election day.
Despite all of that groundwork, he alleged that the Labour Party leadership discarded the structure his team had built, leaving agents without access to their EC8A forms on election day and forcing the legal team to go to court with documents sourced directly from INEC….See Moreย
