“Netanyahu Praises ‘Worst Slaughter’ Genghis Khan, Called ‘Wanted War Criminal’ By Iran”

According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks comparing Jesus Christ and Genghis Khan, describing them as an “open disdain” for a central figure in Christianity. His comments were posted on the social platform X on Friday.

“For a man so reliant on goodwill of Christians in the United States, Netanyahu’s open disdain for Jesus Christ (PBUH) is remarkable,” Araghchi wrote, emphasising the perceived contradiction between Netanyahu’s political alliances and the language he used.

He also referenced Netanyahu’s praise for Genghis Khan, whom he described as “the worst slaughterer our region has ever seen,” and said it aligned with Netanyahu’s status as “a wanted war criminal.”

Netanyahu’s original comments, which sparked global reaction, were delivered at a press briefing amid the ongoing conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. The statements quickly circulated online, drawing criticism from religious communities and foreign commentators. Many users interpreted the remarks as disrespectful toward Christian beliefs and inconsistent with diplomatic sensitivities, particularly given Israel’s strategic ties with the United States.

In his response, Araghchi aimed to highlight what he characterised as a stark dissonance between Netanyahu’s rhetoric and his reliance on support from Christian constituencies abroad. The Iranian foreign minister’s remarks add to the complex diplomatic exchanges occurring against the backdrop of the wider regional conflict…..See More
