Its Likely The Same People Who Tapped Gen Uba’s Phone And Gave Terrorists That Bugged NSA’s Phone- Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Minister of Aviation, has claimed that the same individuals who tapped the phone of General Uba Sani also tapped the phone of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu. His statement was shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Fani-Kayode’s post comes amid accusations against former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai regarding the alleged interception of the NSA’s phone. The former Aviation Minister suggested a direct connection between past surveillance activities and recent security breaches in Nigeria.

“Permit me to begin by saying that it is likely that it is the same people that tapped the late Brigadier General Uba’s phone and gave his location to the terrorists that led to his execution that bugged the NSA’s phone,” Fani-Kayode wrote in his post.

He further claimed that the phone of General Uba was tapped, which allowed terrorists to locate him, ultimately leading to his death. Fani-Kayode used the post to recall his own collaboration with El-Rufai, Uba Sani, and Ribadu during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, emphasizing that the networks involved in these surveillance activities may have persisted across administrations.

Fani-Kayode’s statement has drawn attention for its implications regarding national security and the vulnerability of top government officials to illegal surveillance. He stressed that such breaches pose serious risks, not only to individual lives but also to the broader stability of government operations.

“The same people who carried out this surveillance and compromised General Uba’s safety are now implicated in the bugging of the NSA’s phone. This is a matter of grave concern for our national security architecture and requires immediate investigation,” he added…. Discover More
