The immediate removal of Buba Galadima as Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kano State Polytechnic has been mandated by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Galadima is a key member of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and a close supporter of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Gov. Yusuf said that the removal of Galadima was the result of continuous reforms aimed at maximizing the Polytechnic’s performance as well as restructuring and alignment with the Kano First Agenda, according to a circular letter that his spokesman, Sunusi Bature, signed on Saturday.
The announcement also included the instantaneous nomination of Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, the Emir of Gaya, as the new Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council.
According to the statement, the Chairman’s tenure on the Governing Council was cut short before its three-year term due to the continuous reforms aimed at improving the Polytechnic’s overall performance.
