Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at people who have spent most of the year spreading rumours about the minister’s health. In a message shared on X to welcome the new month, he mocked those who claimed earlier in the year that Wike was seriously ill or needed urgent medical care.
Olayinka pointed out that the year is almost over, yet the people who were focused on monitoring Wike’s life and wellbeing have gained nothing from it. He reminded them that despite all the negative predictions, Wike is still active, while some of those who pushed these rumours are no longer alive. He added that anyone who chooses to spend the remaining days of the year worrying about Wike instead of improving their own life is simply wasting their time.
According to him, people should pay more attention to their own progress rather than constantly wishing bad news on others. He said he is grateful for the supporters who are happy when he is happy, and he sent them good wishes for the new month. However, he made it clear that anyone hoping for something terrible to happen to him or the minister should be ready to face the same energy in return.
In his words, “You have used 11 months to mind Wike’s health and his life, instead of minding your own.”
