According to the report from SYMFONI TV, In a charged opening to the session, a senior figure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, set a firm tone as he addressed stakeholders and observers. He situated the gathering within what he described as “the highest echelon of our party, the PDP,” underscoring the seriousness of the discussion.
Calling for sincerity and attentiveness, he declared: “I will plead with you to listen very attentively because if we don’t tell the truth, we are wasting our time.”
Chief George emphasized that the meeting was convened to correct narratives surrounding the state of the PDP and to dispel rumors of internal collapse. He stated clearly that the party remains intact despite public speculation.
“We want to inform the Nigerian public that this party hasn’t collapsed,” he said, reinforcing the PDP’s resilience. Using a metaphor to drive home the point, he added: “This party is a political tree and tree doesn’t fall anyhow.”
His remarks signal renewed efforts within the PDP to maintain unity amid internal tensions and to counter what party elders describe as misinformation about its stability and future.
