Wike: Donald Trump’s Govt Is Going After Those That Have Committed A Crime That They Suspect-Idimogu

Former Lagos State House of Assembly member Hon. Jude Emeka Omobowale Idimogu has highlighted key differences between Nigerian and American law enforcement approaches while discussing the legal challenge against Minister Nyesom Wike’s Florida property acquisitions.

Speaking on Voice of the People TV about activist Omoyele Sowore’s lawsuit regarding Wike’s newly acquired Florida mansions, Idimogu emphasized the American justice system’s approach to accountability.

“The basic difference between here and there is that there is no respect for persons. The law takes its course here. If you are indicted, irrespective of who you are, you go to jail,” Idimogu stated during the interview.

The former legislator acknowledged that criminal activity exists in all societies. “Everywhere there’s always some element – some people who also dare the law, who take the risk with the law in whatever they do,” he explained.

Idimogu referenced current American enforcement efforts. “That’s why you see the present government, Donald Trump’s government, is going after a lot of criminal people – people that have criminal tendencies or those that they know have actually committed a crime that they suspect,” he said.

He praised the effectiveness of American law enforcement agencies. “But the bottom line is the police are working, other agencies, FBI are working in this place. Of course there’s crime everywhere but the difference here is that when you are caught, you pay for it. Going through cash is difficult but there are people who want to make some profit in every transaction,” Idimogu observed.

The former assembly member also noted challenges with large cash transactions. “When you compare that the money involved also cannot go through the normal banking system because they ask questions. They want to trace it through another way. And like you say, we’re all human beings. There are people that want to dare the system,” he explained.

Idimogu concluded by emphasizing the key distinction he sees between the two systems. “But the difference here is that when you are caught, when you are caught, you pay for it. That’s just it,” he stated. See, More, Here>>>>
