The actress revealed that at the age of nine, she was molested by two men from her neighborhood while she was living with her grandmother.
Aleem recounted that she did not report the abuse because she believed it was a common occurrence. “I was very attractive as a child. Older men, those over 35, would invite me into their homes while I was selling goods on the streets. I was about 9 or 10 years old then,” she said.
She described how the men, whom she identified as pedophiles, would touch her body and private areas and even ask her to touch their genitals. This abuse happened around three times, but Aleem kept it to herself, thinking it was normal. She felt unable to confide in her grandmother, fearing she wouldn’t understand.
As she grew older, Aleem encountered other men in her neighborhood who attempted similar advances, inviting her to their homes. However, by then, she was mature enough to recognize the danger and refused to go with them.
In addition to sharing her painful past, Aleem also spoke about the financial challenges affecting her career. In June, she posted an emotional video on Instagram expressing her disappointment over the poor performance of her recent film, *Okoja Ofin*, on YouTube.
