What Basis Does Tinubu Have To Face Our People To Come Back And Vote For Him Again, Why?—Prof. Yusuf

‎According to a report by Daily Post, on Thursday May 7, 2026, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, Prof. Usman Yusuf, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying Nigerians are becoming frustrated with the current state of governance in the country.

‎Yusuf warned that the President’s popular slogan, “On your mandate we shall stand,” could eventually work against him in the 2027 general election, according to Yusuf, many citizens believe the government has shifted attention away from governance and is now more focused on political activities and public displays.

‎He claimed Nigerians are struggling with economic hardship and insecurity while leaders continue to celebrate political victories, he said the same mandate that brought Tinubu into office could also lead to his removal if the administration fails to address the needs of the people before the next election.

‎Yusuf further argued that many Nigerians were unhappy with the direction of the country and that those close to the President were not being honest with him about public dissatisfaction, he suggested that ordinary citizens were growing tired of repeated political slogans without visible improvements in their daily lives.

‎He questioned what achievements the President could present to Nigerians when seeking re-election in 2027, he wondered how the administration would convince religious leaders and voters to support Tinubu again if living conditions do not improve.

‎The former NHIS Executive Secretary maintained that the government must focus more on governance, economic recovery and addressing public concerns rather than political celebrations.

‎”Governance has stopped now and all they are doing is dancing around, ‘on your mandate we shall stand’ and on your mandate you will get out of the Villa. Nigerians are fed up Mr President, nobody is telling you the truth. What basis does he have to face our people or any cleric to come back and vote for him again, why?” he said….See More
