Former Executive Secretary of the NHIS, Usman Yusuf, has accused the Federal Government of selective justice and ethnic bias in its anti-corruption campaign, raising concerns over what he described as a lack of inclusiveness in governance.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Yusuf alleged that individuals from certain regions of the country are disproportionately targeted, while others are allegedly shielded. His comments come amid ongoing debates about fairness and balance in Nigeria’s political and judicial processes.
According to him, “We’ve seen Fulani from the northwest picked; we’ve seen Igbos from the southeast picked. Oh, the southwest, they’re all saints. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we’re not stupid; this country belongs to all 200 and whatever million of us; we’re all equal stakeholders. The way you’re running this government, you’re running a partisan, tribalistic government. Your government is not inclusive; your fight against corruption is nothing but a witch hunt against political opponents. This is not going to be allowed to stand.”
Yusuf also directly referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing his administration of pursuing what he termed a “partisan and tribalistic” agenda.
