The National Chairman of the Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria, Jabir Yaro, has declared that nothing will deter the upcoming protest scheduled for August, aimed at addressing issues of bad governance.

According to PUNCH, Yaro emphasised that no force can halt the planned demonstration, urging citizens to participate in large numbers.

In his statements, Yaro made it clear that intimidation tactics would not succeed in stopping the protest.

He responded to the recent withdrawal from the planned demonstration by another northern group, labelling them as “APC boys” who are merely engaged in propaganda.

This comment reflects his belief that their withdrawal was motivated by political interests rather than genuine concerns for governance.

Yaro expressed confidence in the turnout for the protest, stating that they anticipate millions of participants.

He highlighted the importance of collective action in voicing dissatisfaction with the current state of governance in the country.

He said that the Northern Comrades Movement has reportedly taken steps to ensure the protest is well-organised and peaceful, having already informed security agencies about their plans.

He said that the protest is seen as a critical opportunity for citizens to express their grievances and demand accountability from their leaders.
