According to a report by Al Jazeera, a Palestinian man has described how his daughter was killed and several other children injured when his family came under Israeli fire while attempting to leave Gaza City.
The man spoke from al-Shifa Hospital, where his surviving children were being treated for wounds. He explained that his family had been traveling along al-Rashid Street, a route the Israeli military had designated as a safe corridor for civilians fleeing the city. Despite that assurance, the family was suddenly struck.
“We were taken by surprise as an Israeli artillery shell landed on my family,” he said. “I am the father of six daughters and a son. One of my daughters was killed, two others and the boy were injured.”
His account reflects the increasingly perilous situation for civilians in Gaza, where routes marked for evacuation have repeatedly come under bombardment. Aid groups and international observers have warned that such incidents erode trust in designated safe passages and leave families with no secure way to escape fighting.
The father’s grief underscored the sense of hopelessness shared by many residents trapped in the enclave. “We run from death to death, killing to more killing,” he continued.
Scenes like this have become emblematic of the war’s toll on civilians, particularly children. With much of Gaza City in ruins, families continue to face the impossible choice of remaining in areas under heavy bombardment or risking escape along routes that may themselves be targeted.
The incident adds to the mounting accounts of civilian casualties reported daily, intensifying calls from humanitarian organizations for stronger international action to protect non-combatants and secure reliable evacuation corridors. See, More, Here>>>>
