A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress in Lagos State, Kunle Oshobi while he was reacting to the defections into the ruling All Progressives Congress by opposition members, said inducement, coercion and internal party crises are driving recent defections across Nigeria’s opposition ranks, weakening rival parties.
He stated that as for some of them who are in politics they are not there because they want to be really and that they are not there because of what they would be getting from the government.
He said, “Who is sponsoring the internal crisis? The internal crisis is sponsored, and we all know the person behind it. And it is not just the internal crisis alone, we have heard stories of governors and senators being induced and coerced to join the ruling party. We’ve heard stories of some governors being induced with N200 billion to N500 billion to join the ruling party.
