Tracynither Nicolas Ohiri has alleged that she was physically pushed by a police officer during a tense meeting over her long-standing debt dispute with David Umahi, but refrained from retaliating to avoid further complications.
Speaking from a hospital bed in Abuja following her release on bail today, Ohiri recounted the incident during an interview on TV Platinum. She had accused Umahi of owing her N250 million for over 12 years, a dispute that led to her arrest and detention before she was granted bail.
“When he stood up that he can’t listen to the facts they were bringing out, I said no, you can’t leave here without giving me my money. And Fakorede pushed me so hard. If I touch him now they will say that I have fought a Nigerian police, that’s why I did not touch him,” she said, explaining her decision not to respond physically.
Ohiri alleged that tensions escalated after she insisted on presenting evidence supporting her claim, and she described the push as both intimidating and inappropriate. By choosing not to react, she said she was mindful of the potential legal and social consequences of engaging a police officer physically, despite feeling provoked.
