Those Who Blackmailed Johnathan Out Of The Villa Are Now More Unpopular Than He Ever Was-Dele Momodu

In a recent statement via his official X account, public affairs commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has sent warm wishes to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who recently marked his 68th birthday.

In post titled, ‘JONATHAN @68: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACED WITH BELATED APOLOGIES’, Shehu described Jonathan as a leader whose qualities have become clearer to many Nigerians with the passage of time.

“President Ebele Jonathan has just turned 68 years. Even his most jaundiced enemies have no option but to appreciate him as some one well collected, patient and who sacrificed the Villa for Nigeria to remain.

Those who blackmailed him out of villa are now more unpopular than he ever was. They called him a failure and clueless, but the same accusations are now their industrial scale trade mark.

They said insecurity defined his tenor While insecurity is now part of their anatomy and physiology,” he wrote.

Shehu noted that Jonathan is now widely viewed as a calm and patient leader who prioritized the stability of the country during his time in office.

He said even critics who once judged him harshly now admit that his conduct in power demonstrated restraint and responsibility.

According to him, Jonathan made personal sacrifices to keep the nation united.

He commented on the political atmosphere during Jonathan’s exit from office.

Shehu argued that some of the former president’s opponents, who once accused him of poor leadership, now face heavier criticism themselves.

He said many Nigerians observe that those who campaigned strongly against Jonathan have become less popular in recent years and now struggle with issues they once blamed on him.

Shehu added that insecurity, which was used as a major attack point against Jonathan, has grown worse under his successors.

He noted that Nigerians now face a deeper sense of vulnerability and frustration, which has forced many to reassess their earlier views.
