They Were Wrong Then About Hitler, And They Are Wrong Now About The Ayatollah — Graham Declares

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has delivered a forceful condemnation of Iran’s ruling clerical establishment, warning against any renewed push to negotiate with Tehran as nationwide protests begin to subside.

In a strongly worded statement posted on his verified social media account, the Republican lawmaker rejected suggestions that Iran’s supreme leadership could moderate its behavior or become a credible partner for diplomatic engagement.

Graham said he was “unnerved” by comments from individuals involved in Iran-related policy discussions who argue that an agreement might be possible if the ayatollah altered his approach.

According to the senator, such thinking reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of Iran’s history and the nature of its ruling system, which he described as inherently violent and ideologically rigid.

Drawing a provocative historical parallel, Graham compared the prospect of negotiating with Iran’s clerical leadership to the idea of striking a deal with Adolf Hitler during World War II.

He argued that just as Hitler’s ambitions were rooted in extremist ideology and domination, Iran’s ayatollah pursues a vision of global religious supremacy under his authority.

Graham characterized this worldview as incompatible with compromise, asserting that “you cannot do a deal with evil—you have to confront it.”

The senator’s remarks come at a sensitive moment, as protests across Iran that erupted over political repression and economic hardship appear to be losing momentum amid intensified security measures.
