In a recent video on Facebook, prominent Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on the Federal Government to support leading industrialist Aliko Dangote, warning against actions that could undermine his contributions to the nation’s economy.
Speaking during a recent address, Ayodele described Dangote as a critical figure in Nigeria’s economic stability. “They shouldn’t gang up against him. Dangote is a messiah,” he said, cautioning against what he perceives as opposition to the businessman’s efforts.
The cleric stressed that Dangote’s investments have played a vital role in supporting government initiatives and stabilizing key sectors. “He has helped the government. The government is supposed to even thank him because he is the major competitor trying to stabilize things,” Ayodele added.
Highlighting the potential consequences of weakening such contributions, Ayodele warned of a more severe economic situation without Dangote’s influence. “If not Dangote at this point in time, Nigeria would have shut down because we would not know what to do,” he said.
Ayodele also criticized any form of conflict or policy decisions that could negatively impact the businessman’s operations. “So any fighting… is nonsense. It won’t work,” he stated, urging stakeholders to prioritize collaboration over confrontation.
