The former governor of Rivers state and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has revealed the type of agreement that they had with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before supporting him in the last presidential election.
This statement was contained in a viral video that was posted on the official X handle of Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the FCT Minister on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The FCT Minister was addressing a large crowd during his Thank You Tour in Rivers state when he made the statement.
In the video that surfaced online, Nyesom Wike stated that the agreement they had with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not a written one. He said the President only told them to support him and that their support won’t be in vain.
Here is what Nyesom Wike said;
“One thing I have always told people is that we never had any written agreement with the President. The only agreement I can say is that he told us; go and support us, when you support us, it will not be in vain”.
