Barrister Asim Adams, a legal practitioner, has stated that the chances of Governor Siminalayi Fubara being removed from office were very high before a court order delayed the impeachment process
In an interview with Signature TV, Barrister Adams said that, in his opinion, the eight allegations leveled against Governor Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly members amounted to serious misconduct. He stated that if the process had been allowed to continue without the court’s intervention, the allegations were strong enough to qualify as impeachable offences.
In Asim Adams words: “The chances of Governor Siminalayi Fubara being impeached was very high. High in the sense that if you look at what has happened, the 8 allegations that were leveled against him were serious misconduct, in my own opinion and if we had allowed that to go through they were of impeachable substance.
