According to a report by the Times of Israel on Friday 6 February, 2026, satellite imagery suggests Iran has quietly focused its repair efforts on its missile program, while key nuclear facilities hit during last year’s brief but intense war remain largely untouched.
According to images published by The New York Times, several ballistic missile manufacturing sites damaged in the 12-day conflict have been restored over recent months. By contrast, repairs at major nuclear locations struck by Israel and the United States appear minimal, and in some cases nonexistent.
The photos, taken across multiple locations, show construction activity at roughly a dozen missile-related facilities. New roofing, cleared debris, and signs of renewed operations point to a clear priority: getting Iran’s missile capabilities back online as quickly as possible.
And that focus may not be accidental. Analysts cited alongside the imagery note that Tehran is likely preparing for the possibility of another confrontation with Washington. In such a scenario, ballistic missiles would serve as a primary means of retaliation, targeting Israel or US military assets stationed across the region.
There has been some movement at nuclear sites too, but far less. The imagery shows limited work at Iran’s three core facilities – Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordo – yet they still appear largely inoperative. In other words, whatever repairs have begun there don’t seem close to restoring full function.
