Several reactions have trailed the statement that was made by the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi after gunmen attacked a church in Anambra state.
The reaction of Peter Obi was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
According to THE CABLE, the gunmen attacked an Anglican church in Lilu, Ihiala LGA of Anambra state during a church service and shot sporadically. During the incident, some worshipper were killed while part of the church was set ablaze.
However, Peter Obi has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he condemned the the action of the hoodlums.
Here is what the former governor of Anambra state wrote on his official X handle;
“No country aspiring growth, stability, and prosperity can accept this level of violence as normal. I have consistently maintained that security is the foundation upon which every other aspect of national development rests”.
