Former Kaduna Central senator and All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Shehu Sani, has sparked reactions following his comments on the recent diplomatic exchange between Ghana and Israel. Sani shared his views on his official X account on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
In his post, he recounted that Israel deported several Ghanaian nationals, prompting the Ghanaian government to respond by sending some Israeli citizens back to their country. Senator Sani expressed support for Ghana’s action, emphasizing that African nations must defend the rights and dignity of their citizens.
On his X page, he wrote:
“Three Ghanaian citizens were mistreated and deported from Israel. Ghana immediately responded by deporting three Israeli nationals. This is how African countries should defend the dignity of their citizens. We live in a new world, as defined by Trump, where each nation is expected to prioritize its own citizens.”
The post quickly drew attention online, eliciting a range of reactions from social media users, many of whom shared their opinions on Sani’s perspective.
