Qatari Emir Condemns ‘Israeli Ceasefire Violations,’ With No Mention Of Hamas

According to a report by The Times of Israel, on Tuesday October 21, 2025, addressing the “Israeli violations of the ceasefire” during a speech to inaugurate a session of the Shura Council, the legislative body of Qatar, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani emphatically condemned the actions.

In his address to the Council, Al Thani reaffirmed their stance against Israeli actions in Palestine, notably the destruction of the Gaza Strip and the persistent breach of the truce.

Even though Israel has always refuted the accusation, the Emir framed its actions in Gaza as genocide and stressed that the Palestinian issue is not “a question of terrorism but of occupation” in his speech. Reiterating Qatar’s position against attacks on its soil, Al Thani also denounced Israel’s September strike on the Hamas leadership in Doha.

Israeli actions were the only subject of the speech, with no mention of Palestinian groups’ violations of the ceasefire, such as Sunday’s deadly attack that killed two soldiers from the Israeli Defence Forces or Israel’s assertion that the first stage of the agreement’s return of hostages from Gaza has not been fully implemented.

Amid persistent regional tensions, the Emir delivered an address that reiterated Qatar’s stance on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and its need for adherence to ceasefire accords.

Qatar has been quite clear in its portrayal of the situation in Gaza through Al Thani’s remarks, which highlight the necessity for worldwide concern over what he called crimes endangering human lives and the impact on civilians.

Speaking first at the opening session of the Shura Council, the Emir echoed the legislative priorities of Qatar with regard to regional concerns, including the plight of the Palestinians.

Al Thani restated Qatar’s long-standing condemnation of Israeli military operations and their impact on civilian populations in Gaza by focussing his words on Israeli activities.

Speaking on the September strike in Doha in particular, the address reiterated Qatar’s denunciation of attacks on its soil, underscoring the Gulf state’s continuing security and diplomatic worries.

International attention is focused on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the continuous attempts to monitor the truce, which is why Sheikh Tamim’s address is timely.

The Emir wrapped up his statement by stressing that the international community must acknowledge the toll that military operations take on civilian life and that Qatar will not stop calling for the observance of ceasefire accords.

Without mentioning the activities of Palestinian groups in the continuing struggle, Qatar’s stance, as stated by Al Thani, remains firmly focused on Israeli crimes, the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and the principle of occupation. See, More, Here>>>>
