Olayinka Reacts To Video Of Oyo Gov Telling Osinbajo That No One Can Speak The Truth Under Tinubu

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has reacted to a video of the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde saying that nobody can speak truth to power under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was contained in a post that Lere Olayinka shared on his official X handle on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

In the video that surfaced online, the Oyo state governor was commending the former Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo when he made the statement.

Here is what Seyi Makinde said;

“I miss you in that position. A lot of people may not know why. It is not a political talk. I remember my first seven months as Oyo governor and there was Covid. We had a meeting and they told us to lock down our states. Why I didn’t lock down Oyo state was because of Osinbajo’s decision.

“We had same situation in this dispensation. It was the tax bill. We said bring the tax back. Let us all have an opportunity to look dispassionately at it. You can not speak truth to power in this dispensation”.

Reacting to the video, Lere Olayinka stated that Seyi Makinde has started abusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he went to beg him at the Presidential Villa in FCT.
