Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission recently reacted after one of the labour leaders that went to meet with president Tinubu was captured on gucci apparel. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he disclosed that the meeting was to discuss matters concerning high cost of living.
The recent meeting between President Tinubu and several leaders from the Labour Congress at the presidential villa in Abuja generated mixed reactions from different quarters after the reasons behind the visit were made public.
The visit, which was a solidarity visit to President Tinubu ahead of the planned peaceful demonstration against the high cost of living sparked massive public reactions as many were left bewildered at the antics of the labour leaders.
However, a moment during the meeting caught the attention of the general public, with one of the labour leaders captured wearing a high cost material.
Reacting, Chidi Odinkalu, a respected human rights activist and legal practitioner in a recent statements which were shared on his official X handle, disclosed that the labour leader wore an iconic logo to the event, a sharp contrast to the meeting agenda.
The said material wore by the labor leader to the meeting on planned protest against high cost of living was the iconic ‘Gucci’.
The actions of the labour leader however, sparked massive reactions as many believed they were not leading by example, but only interested in personal gains.
