Mazi Ugochukwu Obi, a key member of the Abia Arise political movement and a strong supporter of Governor Alex Otti, has responded to recent remarks made by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who claimed that Abia State would suffer if he is not re-elected to the Senate in 2027.
This was contained in a public statement released by VANGUARD on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Obi, who also serves as a Contract Specialist with the United States Department of Defense, made the statement while reacting to Kalu’s comments about the 2027 elections.
He said that the senator’s remarks were driven by personal ambition and not by the interests of the people.
Obi emphasized that the people of Abia are now politically aware and focused on leaders who deliver results.
The political strategist said Kalu’s time in the Senate has not brought meaningful development to Abia North and that his threats are empty and outdated.
Obi said, “Abia North will not miss Senator Kalu. In fact, we will celebrate his non-return to the Senate in 2027.”
