Nigerian Military Officers Named As Selling Arms And Weapons To Terrorists Attacking Christian” John

African Laison, Christian Solidarity International, Hassan John has made serious allegations of military complicity in attacks against Christian communities, claiming Nigerian military officers have been identified as selling weapons to terrorist groups.

In his interview with CBN, John outlined what he described as systematic failures and corruption within Nigeria’s security apparatus. “For so many reasons now I wouldn’t take too much time to go either through the corruption or the mishandling or the complicity or you know even military officers now being named as either selling arms or selling weapons and now a lot of mess just went on there,” John stated.

The CSI International liaison suggested that these alleged actions by military personnel have undermined efforts to protect Christian communities from armed groups. According to John, this represents one of several factors explaining why the Nigerian government has failed to effectively stop attacks on Christians despite having the capacity and capability to do so.

John’s allegations paint a picture of institutional failure involving multiple levels of corruption and complicity. He claimed that armed groups attacking Christians are “well equipped,” “well funded,” and “well organized,” raising questions about their sources of weapons and support.

These explosive claims come as Nigeria faces increasing international pressure over religious persecution, with the United States recently designating the country as a nation of particular concern for religious freedom violations.

The allegations of military involvement in arming terrorist groups would represent a significant breach of trust and duty if substantiated, potentially explaining the persistent nature of attacks despite military presence in affected regions.
