Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has shared a deeply personal detail about her reproductive health, disclosing that she deliberately tied her fallopian tubes over two decades ago to permanently stop having children.
Speaking during an engaging panel discussion on motherhood on her show, the actress explained that while her ex-husband pleaded for more children, she was completely determined to limit her family size because she was not naturally a “lot of children” kind of person.
Bello noted that the medical procedure was seamless even 26 years ago, encouraging women who are absolutely certain they are done with childbearing to explore medical options rather than living in fear of unexpected pregnancies.
Shaffy Bello said: “My ex-husband had to beg for me to have another one. I didn’t want a lot of children. I wanted to stop. So, they went through my navel, went in there, did what they need to do, and they tied it up. That’s it. They closed my eggs.
