May Allah Guide Them Or Banish Them From The Face Of The Earth — Shettima Condemns Maiduguri Bombers

Vice President Kashim Shettima has strongly condemned the bomb blast that killed 25 people and injured several others in Maiduguri, praying for the perpetrators to either be guided to the right path or banished from the face of the earth.

Shettima made the remarks during a visit to console bereaved families in Maiduguri following the deadly explosions that rocked the Borno State capital on Monday night, hitting locations including the entrance of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Monday Market, and the Post Office area.

Speaking in media coverage by Channels TV, an emotional Shettima offered prayers for the victims and their families while delivering a strong message against those responsible for the attack.

“May the lives of the innocent souls, the twenty-five of them that were blown to smithereens in Maiduguri last evening rest in peace. May Allah grant their souls eternal rest and reward them with His paradise. And may Allah also grant their families the fortitude to bear their irreparable losses,” Shettima said.

He went further, calling on God to bring an end to the violence and making it clear that no religion supports the killing of innocent people. “May Allah bring this madness to an end. No religion sanctions the killing of the innocent. Whatever it is that motivates them, may Allah either guide them onto the right path, or may Allah banish them from the surface of the earth,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, Shettima called on Nigerians across every sector of life to keep the nation in their prayers. He urged citizens to intercede for the country with the same devotion a parent shows for a child whose future must not be abandoned. He also asked that prayers be offered for the president and all those in positions of authority, seeking divine wisdom, courage, sincerity, and fairness in their service to the nation.
