Makinde:“I’m Your Senior in Governance, I Never Dance Around; If You Insist, Come for Debate—Umahi

Former Governor of Ebonyi State and current Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has openly challenged the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to a public debate following Makinde’s alleged remark that he “dances around.”

In a video interview shared by Viable TV, Umahi expressed displeasure over Makinde’s statement, urging the Oyo governor to withdraw his words.

He emphasized that he is Makinde’s senior both in governance and in the field of engineering, adding that he has no habit of “dancing around” as claimed.

According to Umahi, his records and achievements in public service speak for themselves, and anyone who doubts his competence should face him in an open discussion.

In his words:

“I’m his senior in governance and his senior in engineering practice. So, anything he doesn’t understand, he should call and ask. I don’t want to join issues with him because I have great respect for our governors, and I also respect him as my friend and brother. But he should withdraw that word that I’m dancing around. I never dance around, and if he insists, he should come for a debate.”

Umahi’s statement has sparked fresh reactions among political observers, with many awaiting Makinde’s response to what is fast turning into an open war of words between the two prominent southern leaders.Continue, Full, Reading>>>>
