Lebanon Cabinet Orders Full Crackdown On Iranian Revolutionary Guards

According to a report by The Times of Israel on March 5, 2026, Lebanon’s cabinet has announced fresh measures to curb Iranian influence in the country.

The government decided to re-impose visa requirements for all Iranian nationals seeking to visit Lebanon. This step aims to tighten control over entries and limit potential security risks.

During the cabinet session, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam directed authorities to implement every necessary action that prevents any operations or presence by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps inside Lebanese territory.

Information Minister Paul Morcos conveyed this instruction directly from the meeting.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps maintains deep and longstanding cooperation with Hezbollah.

Over many years, this partnership has strengthened Hezbollah into a formidable militia force positioned along Israel’s northern border.

The present administration, headed by President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, represents a broad anti-Hezbollah coalition.

Western countries provided crucial support to help this government form after Israel’s extensive air and ground campaign in 2024 severely weakened Hezbollah’s capabilities.
