Lere Olayinka, spokesperson for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has criticized activist Omoyele Sowore over his activities while the lawyer of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu remained in Kuje Prison.
In a tweet posted on his official handle, Olayinka sarcastically referred to Sowore as “Usain SowoBolt” while contrasting his whereabouts with those of Kanu’s legal representative. Transcorp Hilton Hotel is one of Abuja’s most prestigious hotels, known for its upscale dining facilities.
Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters and former presidential candidate, has been a vocal critic of the Nigerian government and has consistently called for the release of political detainees, including Nnamdi Kanu. Neither Sowore nor representatives of Kanu’s legal team have responded to the tweet at the time of this report.
“Last night, activist ‘Usain SowoBolt’ was in Transcorp Hotel, Abuja, eating barbecue fish, while Kanu’s lawyer was in Kuje Prison, eating Agbado,” Olayinka wrote on his social media platform.
