Kwankwaso Appreciates That I Attend Evening Mass At 6:00 Pm As He Observers Muslim Prayers -Aliu

In a recent interview on Arise TV, Folashade Aliu, a close aide to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, spoke extensively about the former Kano governor’s attitude toward religious diversity, describing him as a leader who respects personal faith and freedom of worship.

According to her, “Kwankwaso appreciates that I attend evening Mass at 6:00 pm as he observes Muslim prayers.” She made the remark while responding to concerns about alleged religious intolerance linked to a proposed foreign legislative measure that reportedly mentioned the senator in relation to religious freedom issues.

Aliu, who served as National Campaign Secretary of the New Nigeria Peoples Party during the 2023 elections, said her working relationship with Kwankwaso spans several years and has given her firsthand insight into his character. She noted that as a practicing Catholic, she freely attends Mass while he observes his Muslim prayers, adding that there has never been any form of pressure or discrimination in their professional engagement.

She argued that critics attempting to frame Kwankwaso as intolerant are ignoring his history of cross-faith collaboration and inclusive politics. According to her, the Muslim-Christian ticket adopted in 2023 reflected genuine conviction rather than political symbolism.

Aliu further maintained that the constitutional framework guiding religious practices in parts of northern Nigeria should not be misrepresented as the agenda of a single individual. She insisted that no credible evidence links the senator to acts of religious persecution.

Reaffirming her confidence in him, Aliu described Kwankwaso as compassionate, people-centered, and respectful of Nigeria’s pluralistic society, expressing optimism that what she termed misinformation would eventually be corrected.
