Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has accused the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, of political hypocrisy and distortion of facts regarding the current state of Nigeria’s economy.
Speaking in an interview with TrustTV News on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Dalung pointed to the historical irony of Keyamo’s career, noting that the Senior Advocate of Nigeria was once a fierce legal adversary of President Bola Tinubu.
Dalung reminded Nigerians that Keyamo was among the lawyers who prosecuted Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State over allegations of certificate forgery.
Dalung warned that the propaganda and “false narration” being peddled by the current administration serve as a dangerous distraction from the reality of national hardship.
He asserted that if individuals with a “history of distortion” like Keyamo claim the economy is improving, Nigerians should interpret it as a sign that the country is “a few minutes into hell.”
Dalung said, “The Minister of Aviation (Keyamo) was one of the lawyers who prosecuted Tinubu when he was governor for certificate forgery. He is today one of his praise singers. So, if all these people will tell us that the economy of Nigeria has improved, Nigerians should know that what they are telling us is that we are a few minutes into hell because they have a history of distortion, propaganda and false narration.”
Since 2023, Festus Keyamo has served as a pivotal figure in Tinubu’s political journey, first as a campaign spokesperson and now as the Minister of Aviation.
Despite his 2002 legal challenge against the Lagos State House of Assembly regarding the then-Governor’s credentials, Keyamo has consistently defended the President’s record, describing him as “white as snow” on the same issues he once investigated.
